Spring Forward to Sandal Weather

Spring is officially here! No more coats, jackets and layers that make you look like a beef burrito. Time to start wearing the cute, sleeveless dresses. Along with Spring, comes the beautiful open-toe shoe opportunities (and the need for pedicures, shaved legs and a tan!).

As I was browsing my many fashion magazines, I noticed there are very particular styles and colors for this season when it comes to sandals. Wedges are not the latest trend anymore. What’s the must-have of this season? Platforms. Middle-height ones with a bohemian feel. Neutral colors that look good with pretty much everything. Browns, caramels, nude, and even some orange. Gold is also the “go-to” for something a little more formal, or not. Gold, along with bronze tones, have the advantage that they can be used for day or night.

Not that Im a fan of it, but snakeskin seems to be trending very well these days, too. I’ve seen it in many colors. Im not an animal print fan, but some people just knows how to rock it. Also, no more 4 inches platforms, the standard now calls for 2 inches chunky heeled sandals. I’m usually wearing the super high heel ones, but I’ve seen some that look so pretty, I’m willing to give this middle-height heel a try. 

With sandal weather comes one of the classics - The gladiator! Usually flat sandal that has many, many straps. Heel or no heel, they are good for any casual event and they look super cute with dresses too. 

What I like most about sandals is that you can wear them with dresses, denim, long pants, shorts or skirts. I wear mine with short dresses, flats for the day,  and with a heel at night.
